SASC United 97 Red Captures Dublin Fall Classic

United 97 Red U14G brought home the Gold Flight title of the Dublin Fall
Classic on September 25th. United rolled through preliminary pool play, having
no goals scored against them.
The girls cruised to a 6-0 win over East
Diablo Impact Xplosion in their first pool play game, then tied Walnut Creek
Inferno 0-0- in the 2nd game. They battled to a tough, well-fought 2-0 win over
Lamorinda United in the semi-finals.
In the tournament championship
game, regulation time expired with the game tied 1-1, as United squared off
Delta Firestorm. Both teams battled in overtime, but could not score, moving
the game to PK's. United 97 claimed the tournament title in the 4th round of
the shootout on strong goal keeping and clutch scoring.
