02 win first tournament title
The Comets came through a fun
weekend without conceding a goal and taking the Championship with a 2-0 win
over SASC Blast at the Medina Fall Classic. The weekend started with a 0-0 tie
with Blast on a monster field at SSC, followed by another 0-0 tie with the very
talented Peninsula Velocity team.
On Sunday the Comets hit 6 without
reply against Burlingame Thunder and then had to wait for the result of Blast
v. Peninsula to see if they would make the Championship game. Blast v Thunder
finished 0-0 meaning Blast and Comets got through to the Final, both being 1
point ahead of Peninsula. An exciting final was decided by 2 goals for the
Comets towards the end of the second half.
